Data security is key for all kinds of research projects. Clients must be confident that the details regarding the respondents or the surveys they have been performing won’t fall into the wrong hands. This is exactly why here at SurveyLab data security policy is extremely strict and we offer multiple solutions which guarantee the highest data safety level.
SSL/HTTPS certificates
The connection with SurveyLab server is encoded with a 256-bit SSL/HTTPS protocol. Regardless of the browser you’re using, you can be sure that the data you’re transmitting is properly secured.
Strong password
All passwords required by SurveyLab system must obey strict security standards. Users are informed about their password quality and the system makes sure that the chosen password consists of at least 8 characters including small and capital letters, numbers, and special characters.
This solution conforms with the Regulation of 29th of April 2004 by the Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration regarding personal data processing documentation and technical and organizational conditions which should be fulfilled by devices and computer systems used for the personal data processing
Encrypted survey links
The url with your online survey location is protected with a hash. This basically means it’s impossible for anyone unauthorized to guess or generate the survey URL on their own. Your survey will only be available to those who received the proper link.
Password or token protected surveys
You have the option to additionally protect access to your survey with a password or a token. In this case, in order to complete the survey, respondents will need the encrypted survey link and will be asked to provide the password or the token.
IP filtering
Apart from password protection, you may choose to show the survey only to the respondents using a defined set of IP addresses. This is very convenient if you want to limit the place where the survey is completed, e.g. workplace and office computer only. This is yet another way to protect your survey from unauthorized respondents.
Event Log
Regardless of the number of people using your SurveyLab account, all their actions are saved in the Event Log. Customers who use Group-work (multi-user account) may also see the events that took place on subaccounts linked with the main account. This gives you full control over the tool and the process of research design.
Legal protection
We operate in accordance with the recommendations issued by the Inspector General for Personal Data Protection, Polish Data Protection Act (Ustawa o Ochronie Danych Osobowych, art. 23, ust.1, pkt.1,3,5) and European Union Directive for Data Protection (95/46/WE). We also fulfill the requirements of the 2003 American CAN-SPAM Act.
