How to provide random ID for a respondent?

Each response collected in the SurveyLab system receives a unique ID (token, pin) that can be used to identify respondents. It can be used to identify specific response in the system and this way manage collected data by providing information to the respondent or deleting the response.

Types of ID

You can use one of the IDs listed below.

{crk}Custom Response Key (crk) is a survey ID managed by the user.
e.g. ABCD1234
{rk} Response Key (rk) is a survey ID managed by the system.
e.g. 26857153
{rid}Response ID (rid) is a survey ID managed by the system.
e.g. 1daedb0e59137769

How to provide ID to the respondent

You can provide the ID to the respondent using a link or display it at the survey end.

Transfer with a link (URL)

You can add an ID to the redirection link (URL) on the survey end.

To do it :

  1. Go to the list of collectors, select collector, and press [S] SETTINGS button.
  2. In the collector BASE SETTINGS, update Go to page (URL) link. Add redirection URL with the ID at the end eg. https://www.yourpage.com/{rk}
  3. Press SAVE button.

Display at the survey end

You can display ID at the end of the survey on the survey “Thank you” page.

To do it :

  1. Go to Languages.
  2. Select the language you want to edit and press EDIT button.
  3. Select COLLECTOR section and edit “Thank you for completing the survey.” message.
  4. Press SAVE button.
  5. Go to the list of collectors, select collector, and press [S] SETTINGS button.
  6. In the collector BASE SETTINGS, select On survey end : Display Thank you page.
  7. Press SAVE button.

You can check IDs for collected responses in the survey report.
